Shout out to everyone making it to the pub in one piece, albeit bringing half the port hills with them. There were murmurs of protests amongst the peloton this week. Quite convenient some may say that the selector of the route wasn’t present to ride said route in what can only be referred to as testing conditions

The ride out to Sumner was at a lighting pace, Much to the relief of my legs the hustle and bustle slowed slightly as logging operations forced an off piste excursion. Led expertly by non-other than Sam Davidson. This deviation ensured Phillip Shorley had time to rejoin the group.
Onwards and into the mist, control point one was completed at the bottom of the first climb huddled in some bushes, Unbeknown to the group they’d been led off course by the one and only Max Hides. Once again we find Max Hides DQ’
Climbing up a descending trail may not be for everyone’s taste, but its rather pesty so we can get amongst it. The Fractured group rejoined on the summit road for control point 2, downing beverages before a spicy descent. To be honest here a clerical call was made, and I skipped the saucy descent and went to the pub. The singletrack sounded wild, but I had a Moon chicken burger on the mind and the kitchen shuts at 9pm.
